Mattel launched a brand new LinkedIn profile page for the most famous ambassador of the brand, as Entrepreneur Barbie debuted. According to its LinkedIn profile, Barbie is a consultant looking to help girls from around the world to play with their imagination, try different careers and explore the world around them. It even has a slogan: If you can dream it, you can be it.The page is full of professional pieces of advice and an impressive curriculum, as the 55-year career of Barbie should be, encompassing more than 150 job positions. Mattel’s strategy may be seen as a way to modernize Barbie and adapt her into the current age of enterprising women.”Her LinkedIn profile is a way to connect with the leading business women from around the world and show her awe-inspiring curriculum,” said a Ketchum’s executive, Mattel’s Public Relations and Marketing agency.The Company to promote Entrepreneur Barbie goes beyond LinkedIn and also includes, among other strategies, a billboard on Times Square and an online digital portal containing tips, games, blogs, and activities.Obviously, Barbie’s demographic target is not the most active user on LinkedIn. However, Ketchum’s spokesman assured: “Barbie has fans from all ages”. Besides, he added that the page aims “to take a look at the fans and successful women communities as they also break barriers and dream out loud.”
