The making of and commercialization of music for the World Cup called everyones attention.Joe Belliotti, Marketing and Entertainment global head of Coca-Cola; Tom Corson, president of RCA Records; Alexandre Schiavo, president of Sony Music Entertainment Brazil; Steve Schnur, president of EA Music Group; along with Carlos Vives and David Correy, singers of the first bilingual anthem in the world cups history, talked about all the details and expectations behind the official theme of the FIFA World Cup 2014.The song carries a very beautiful message, I believe it is the first anthem for a world cup where one sings in Spanish and the other one answers in English. We dont speak the same language, but beyond the song, there is the message that music is one language Vives assured.After the success of the song Waka Waka, of world cup 2010, sang by Shakira; which sold two billion copies, the executives estimate that this years theme, called La copa de todos (Everybodys cup) will go the same way, since the song is being recorded in 20 different languages. Football is a universal sport that fosters a serious market. The music that accompanies the sport should do the same Belliotti said.As to himself, Corson concluded: To sing the world cups theme is a unique opportunity. Only intelligent artists seize intelligent opportunities, along with even more intelligent brands.
