T-Mobile recently announced the first of what it promises will be a burst of new initiatives to expand its un-carrier consumer revolution on new fronts. To begin with, the company launched its economical new Simple Starter plan, designed to offer a much-needed alternative to the high risk of incredibly high additional costs from data overages that other cell-phone providers are famous for. This new plan positions T-Mobile as the only one of the principal providers in the United States to offer a single line of 4G LTE data for just $40 a month.Simple Starter is specifically designed for users of wireless services looking for value-added and for businesses that want a predictable, affordable service without extra charges for data overages. “Un-carrier is a movement, not a marketing strategy. We are freeing consumers from the predatory practices of traditional US wireless companies and that includes these plans that start with a low price and a low data limit, but then hit you with insane fees if you send one too many emails,” says John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. “Today, we are introducing a zero-risk value plan that will give consumers everywhere a predictable and affordable solution,” says Mike Sievert, chief marketing officer at T-Mobile.
