The motor starts up again immediately and easily the instant the driver begins taking his or her foot off the brake pedal. The amount of fuel saved varies and depends on driving patterns.In the United States, Auto Start-Stop technology is available in the Ford Fusion with 1.5 liter EcoBoost. The expansion of the Auto Start-Stop function is a milestone in the Ford Blueprint for Sustainability, which includes a whole series of new technologies to improve vehicle efficiency.
