Indra Nooyi, president and CEO of PepsiCo, has recently been chosen by Fortune Magazine as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business and she came in second in that category.Under Nooyis Leadership, PepsiCo has expanded far beyond a soda-pop business, making its way into rapidly growing categories like yogurt and hummus. Today the corporation has no less than 22 billion-dollar brands!Topping the Fortune list is Ginni Romett, president and CEO of IBM. Two other companies in the food-and-drink industry are represented in the top ten by Irene Rosenfeld, president and CEO of Mondelez International, in sixth place, and Patricia Woertz, president and CEO of Archer Daniels Midland, ranked seventh.Further down the list are Rosalind Brewer, president and CEO of Walmarts Sams Club in 15th place, Denise Morrison, president of Campbell Soup Company in 23rd place, and Gisel Ruiz, executive VP of Walmart, who came in 24th.The Most Powerful Women in Business are ranked by the editors of Fortune based on four criteria: the size and importance of the womans business in the global economy; the health and direction of the business; the womans professional resume and future prospects; and cultural and social influence.
